EPA RRP Lead Renovator CERTIFICATION
Who Needs RRP Certification?
As of April 22, 2010, anyone who performs renovations, repairs, or painting (RRP) in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities must be Lead-Safe Certified by the EPA or an EPA-Authorized state. Individuals and firms that are not certified could face fines of up to $41,056 per day. To get certified, individuals must take this 1-day Lead RRP Training course.
Certification requirements
- Complete an 8 hour EPA approved RRP training course.
- Pass both the hands-on and written exams during the course.
Certification Validity and Renewal
- RRP certification is valid for 5 years.
- To maintain compliance, professionals must take a refresher course every 5 years before their certification expires.
